SMART Girls Summer Camp
classes for grades 1-6
We’re going virtual in June and back to campus in July!
Campers can draw on their critical thinking and problem-solving skills to complete projects that are rooted in practical, hands-on exploration. Through collaboration and inquiry campers will explore tinkering, engineering, science, mathematics, making, and the arts.

Virtual Camp “Oh the Places We Can Go”
Two weeks: June 8 – 12 and June 15–19
SMART Girls is excited to offer a 2-week virtual camp allowing students to explore their creativity and confidence, in our brand- new camp “Oh the Places We Can Go!”
Modeled after the Dr. Seuss book of a similar title, this camp will allow students to discover new ways to express themselves and their ideas. Campers will participate in a series of activities in exercises that center on them finding themselves and their own identity during this difficult time. Each day is full of a variety of fun and exciting online activities in order to allow your student to connect and learn from others while stimulating and indulging their own creativity. SMART Girls is thrilled to utilize Nearpod and Zoom in order to give students an exceptional summer camp experience.
For this camp we are looking at offering the following SMART Girls Courses
Dr. Seuss Creation: Students will read/watch a Dr. Seuss book each day learning about the rhyme scheme and discussing how the message of the stories relate to their own lives. Students will work to create their own story with their own message for others. All Ages
Oh, what a Beautiful Morning: A Morning Mediation Class that will allow students to connect with themselves and their surroundings. This class is tailored to give children an introduction to mindfulness and meditation that will help them flourish in life. Our program is tailored to give children an introduction to mindfulness and meditation that will help them flourish in class, connect with their families, and succeed with their friends. All while learning about the health benefits and importance of exercise and yoga. All Ages
Dancercise: Is a dance class featuring kid-friendly routines and music. We break down the steps, add games, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class structure. This class helps develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of your lives by making fitness fun. All Ages
Petite Artist: Is an interactive class geared toward teaching and bringing out the inner artist in each student. Students will explore the different ideas and concepts behind several different forms of art. All Ages
Virtual Camp Daily Schedule
9:30 – 10:00 Morning Meeting (Oh what a beautiful morning)

12:00 – 1:00 Zoom Lunch (Some days this will include a Netflix party with students)
1:00 – 3:00 Outdoor Activity and Collaboration
3:00 – 3:30 Close Out/ Share Out
During our virtual summer camp, we will be using the instructional platform called Nearpod. It merges formative assessment and dynamic media for collaborative learning experiences. Self-paced lessons and activities students access anytime and anywhere. Synchronize learning during live instruction and classroom communities stay connected with collaborative activities delivered through one seamless learning experience.

On-Site Camp – Four different weeks in July
Week 1 – Science and Exploration (July 6 – 10)
Through inquiry-based experiences, campers will think for themselves, confidently ask questions, and engage in scientific thinking to understand the world around them. Classes this week will include American Girl Doll & Spatastic.
Week 2 – Technology and Tinkering (July 13 – 17)
Campers will dive into the exciting world of technology to discover the multitude of mediums that exist in this always-evolving field. Classes this week will include Building Bridges, Game on Gamers & 3D Creations.
Week 3 – Performing Arts and Design (July 20 – 24)
Using Schoolhouse Rock Jr. as the central text, campers will have opportunities to learn about history, mathematics, performing arts, and language. On Friday, there will be a production of the show, which parents are invited to attend. This camp is open to everyone with or without prior theatre experience. Classes this week will include Imagination Stage & Dancing Through Life.
Week 4 – Entrepreneurship and Innovation (July 27 – 31)
Over the course of the week, the campers are challenged to design a physical product and complete a business plan and a pitch deck. They will then pitch their company to a panel of investors in a shark tank style presentation. Classes this week will include Time Talent Treasure & Shark Tank.
On-Site Camp Details
Morning Care: 7:30am – 8:00am
Drop-off: 8:00am – 8:30am
Camp: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pick-Up: 3:45pm – 4:15pm
Aftercare: 4:15pm – 5:30pm
Students should bring their lunch in a lunch box. We do have microwaves where they can warm their food.
$200 – Virtual Camp
$425 – Weekly for On-site Camps (4 classes each day)
$25 – Weekly Morning Care (7:30 – 8:00 am)
$50 – Weekly Aftercare (4:15 – 5:30 pm)
AGS does not offer any financial aid or scholarships for SMART Girls Camp at this time.
New for 2020: AGS is offering a payment plan this year. This option will be available at the end of check-out. If you choose the payment plan option, your total will be split into 4 installments
Virtual Camp is $200. On-site Camp is $425 per week. There will be a $25 discount for each additional week added. For example:
1 week – $425 (4 classes)
2 weeks – $825, a savings of $25 (8 classes)
3 weeks – $1,225, a savings of $50 (12 classes)
4 weeks – $1,625, a savings of $75 (16 classes)
