National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards
Two students were recognized for the Scholastic Writiting Competition. Flora Smith won the Gold Medal at the National level in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in the Dramatic Script category. Her winning entry was a ten-minute play entitled “Life or Death,” in which Life and Death visit a couples’ therapist to work on their differences. Along with all National Gold Medalists, she is invited to take part in the ceremony at Carnegie Hall on June 8. Kimberly Kassis received Honorable Mention for her personal essay “Finding My Voice.”
Five students received recognition in Visual Arts for the Scholastic Art & Writing Competition.
