Marci McCarthy is currently the CEO and President of T.E.N., an information security executive networking and relationship-marketing firm. She is also the CEO and Chairman of ISE® Talent boutique executive recruitment and talent management firm that is dedicated solely to Information Security Executives® and professionals. McCarthy has more than 20 years of business management and entrepreneurial experience, including founding T.E.N.’s flagship program, the Information Security Executive® of the Year (ISE®) Program Series, which is lauded by the IT industry as the premier recognition and networking program for security professionals in the U.S. and Canada.

McCarthy was selected as one of the TiE Top Entrepreneurs for 2015. The recognition honors top metro Atlanta-area entrepreneurs who have a proven track record for success in management and building companies that show growth, profitability, and sustainability. In 2013, she was named the Leadership Character Award winner in the small/medium business category by Turknett Leadership Group, an organization that recognizes individuals and companies who demonstrate character in leadership through the maintenance of integrity, through the balance of respect, and responsibility.

She also has received a congressional citation from Rep. Henry C. “Hank” Johnson, Jr. (D-Ga.) in the 4th Congressional District of Georgia for her overall work in fostering greater professionalism in the IT security industry and enhancing the efforts of the private and public sectors to protect cyberspace. For her efforts, the 4th Congressional District of Georgia has named March 13, 2012 as Marci McCarthy Day.

McCarthy has also participated in the Technology Association of Georgia’s (TAG) Government Affairs & Comp TIA DC Fly-In. This event gives members the chance to learn about new laws and regulations, recognize members of Congress and their colleagues for their support of the industry, and advocate for policies that will help businesses grow and compete in the global marketplace.

McCarthy is a member of the advisory board for the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP). She also serves on the Board of Directors for TechBridge, a nonprofit group that drives community impact by bringing affordable technology & business expertise to other nonprofits, and has done so for over a decade. Prior to creating T.E.N., McCarthy was the Director of Marketing for Lancope, a leading provider of network visibility and security intelligence to defend enterprises against today’s top threats. She has also been the Director of Product Marketing for SecureWorks, and held consulting positions with Deloitte Consulting and PwC.

In addition to her work in the information security arena, McCarthy also invests her time with philanthropic endeavors. She is the chairperson of Shoe Tsunami at Saks, which benefits Soles4Souls, a disaster relief organization that act as second wave responders providing footwear and clothing to those In need during times of disaster. The Shoe Tsunami Events are hosted at Saks Fifth Avenue Stores in New York City and Atlanta, where a percentage of the Shopping-4-a-Cause is donated to the organization and for every dollar raised at the event enables a pair of shoes to be donated to those in need. Thus far, the events have generated enough shoe sales to donate over 20,000 pairs of shoes.

McCarthy is a contributing author to the WIT book, “CLIMB: Leading Women In Technology Share Their Journeys To Success.” She has been quoted on several occasions by major industry publications like CSO Magazine and TechTarget. She has been a speaker at many ISSA Conferences, both regional and local chapter events and is a nationally sought-after speaker on information security, women in security, entrepreneurship and leadership topics.
