Mental Health Awareness Assembly

Our mission statement calls us to inspire girls to lead lives of purpose, and one way we do this is to encourage our students to use their voice. AGS Senior Sarah Eazetta is passionate about addressing the stigma of mental illness. She has created a blog called Suspending the Stigma, which receives visitors and contributors from around the world. She is bringing her passion to AGS. Along with sophomore Lila Cook, Sarah has created a week of meaningful conversations during Advisory and a guest speaker during assembly. A representative from the National Alliance on Mental Illness will be speaking in assembly on January, 28 about demystifying the stigma around mental illness. NAMI’s mission is to provide advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives. NAMI will be speaking to our girls using age-appropriate language about how they can help to support the vision of a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares.

We invite all of our families to come and hear this assembly. Assemblies are held every Wednesday from 11:05-11:55 a.m.
