NAIS Student Diversity Leadership Conference

AGS is excited to have our first student delegation attend the 2016 NAIS Student Diversity Leadership Conference (SDLC). Students Amari Cash ’18, Zoe Forte ’17, Imani Guy Duckett ’17, Kayla Rodriguez Perez ’17, Rachel Vellanikaran ’19, and Tierra Williams ’19 will be representing AGS at the conference. Faculty members Jen Halicki, Cheris South, and Shetal Shah will chaperone and also attend the People of Color Conference (PoCC) which takes place concurrently.

Assistant Head of School and Academic Dean Dr. Sylvia Rodriguez Vargas is a PoCC co-chair this year, serving on the planning committee along with Jen Halicki and facilitating a panel. This year in Atlanta, PoCC and SDLC have record registration with over 5,000 participants. 

AGS is also honored to have Category 5 participate in the Unity Performance with Paideia, Woodward Academy, and The Children’s School, as well as host 9 visitors from various schools across the country who are in Atlanta for PoCC.
