Head of School Joins Leadership Atlanta 2017

Atlanta Girls’ School Head Ayanna (“Yanni”) Hill-Gill has been selected to join the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2017. Yanni joins more than 80 local leaders from diverse businesses and organizations throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area who will be participating in Leadership Atlanta’s signature nine-month executive level program. Yanni began her tenure as the Head of Atlanta Girls’ School in July 2014. A national educational leader for all girls’ education, Yanni serves as a Board member of the National Coalition of Girls’ School and an Advisory member of the Global Village Project.

According to its website, “Leadership Atlanta is the oldest sustained community leadership program in the nation, celebrating more than 47 years of developing leaders. Together with an expansive network of distinguished alumni, Leadership Atlanta continues a proud tradition of connecting and inspiring leaders to strengthen metro Atlanta’s communities.”

“I am honored to be chosen to join the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2017. As a relative newcomer to Atlanta, I look forward to getting to know the city better, learning from my esteemed colleagues in the cohort, and making a significant contribution to the city of Atlanta through our service. I am most excited about the continued opportunities that Leadership Atlanta creates beyond this upcoming year which allow me to continue to serve the community through ongoing service and partnerships.

Leadership Atlanta

The core of Leadership Atlanta’s programming is its signature nine-month, executive-level series. Leadership Atlanta chooses approximately 80 established leaders each year to represent a broad cross-section of metro Atlanta. Through retreats, full-day seminars, service projects, discussion groups and community tours, members explore critical community issues, examine themselves as leaders and build relationships of trust and mutual understanding. Each class year’s programming is created and executed by a dedicated team of hundreds of Leadership Atlanta alumni volunteers, under the direction of the organization’s staff. Each of these volunteers donates his/her time, experience, and expertise in order to create the best possible experience for class members.
