School Walkout Led by AGS Students

On Friday, April 20, students in the Melanin Matters, Young Democrats, Committee for Social Justice and Equity clubs joined forces to plan and lead the AGS events on National School Walkout Day. Students who walked out heard from student speakers with different perspectives about gun violence, gun ownership, school safety, and mental health awareness. Afterwards all students were invited by student leaders to participate in sign making, registering to vote (if old enough), calling local and state representatives, and sending cards to survivors of the Parkland school shooting on February 14. Enjoy the gallery below (check out videos of student speakers on the AGS Facebook page).
