Robin King

Robin worked in marketing for Southern Company, the parent firm of Georgia Power, Alabama Power, Mississippi, Southern Company Gas, Atlanta Gas Light, and Chattanooga Gas, for 11 years. She was hired in 1991 for marketing and proposal writing of the now-defunct international division and moved to Southern Company Communications in 1996 in advertising to promote various residential programs.  She moved to Georgia Power as Assistant to Vice President, Marketing in 1997, and moved to Southern Company Advertising in 1998, working on rebranding of Southern Company, golf sponsorship of PGA Tour Championship and Payne Stewart Award. She moved to Southern Linc, a telecommunication system for government customers, as Advertising Manager. Robin retired in 2002 to raise her daughter. Her civic accomplishments include serving in various roles with the Fernbank Museum, Jackson Elementary School, ARCS Foundation Atlanta (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists), and Atlanta Girls’ School.
