Melissa Long

Melissa Long is an Emmy Award winning broadcast and digital journalist. She recently joined an start-up behind the new artificial intelligence-powered global news platform, Ground. 

Most recently, Melissa was an Anchor/Reporter with Atlanta’s NBC station. Melissa has also served as an international business correspondent for Bloomberg TV in Manhattan, Hong Kong and Sydney. Earlier in her career, she worked as an Anchor/Reporter with CNN, HLN and CNN.com and covered the historic 2008 election from the campaign trail. Melissa also served as an adjunct communications professor while working as a broadcast journalist in Rochester, New York.

She has participated in educational fellowships through the UN Foundation in New York, National Press Foundation in Washington, D.C., RIAS in Germany and the East-West Center in China. She also spearheaded voluntourism programs with children in Singapore and Costa Rica. She’s also a 2017 graduate of Leadership Atlanta.

Melissa graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University with a dual degree in journalism and policy studies and was awarded an MBA from the University of Rochester. Melissa lives with her husband and young daughter in Brookhaven.
