Anita Wallace Thomas

Anita Wallace Thomas is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in the Atlanta office. She focuses her practice in litigation, specifically in the areas of commercial litigation, franchise litigation, drug and medical device litigation, product liability, employment litigation, and toxic torts. Having served as lead counsel in more than 50 jury trials held in the superior and state courts Georgia, she has experience in product and commercial liability litigation, employment litigation, complex litigation, and drug medical device litigation. She also serves as counsel and trusted advisor to local government in all phase of litigation, internal investigations, and personnel training, and defends clients against charges of employment discrimination, harassment and wrongful discharge.

Active within her community and various professional organizations, Ms. Thomas is a 2014 Hall of Fame inductee of the Gate City Bar Association, serves on the Board of Trustees of the Leadership Institute for Women of Color in Law and Business, a member of the Leadership Atlanta 2011 class, and a Board Member of the Andrew & Walter Young YMCA. She previously served as President of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, as a Board Member of the National Association of Women Lawyers, on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia, and as a Board Member of the Atlanta Regional Commission. Recognized as a “Most Powerful and Influential Attorney” in Georgia by Women Works Media Group and amongst the 2015 Most Influential Black Lawyers by Savoy Magazine. She is also the recipient of the Bensonetta Tipton Lane Award for Commitment to Family, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys’ Spirit of GABWA Award, and the National Bar Association’s President’s Award.
