We are excited that you are considering an application to Atlanta Girls’ School!
Step 1: Online Application
Submit an online application (via Ravenna) with the non-refundable application fee of $80.
We are currently accepting applications for the 2018-19 school year. Please contact Director of Admission Cassandra Streich for more information about the application process and deadlines.
Step 2: Required Forms
Required forms are accessed via Ravenna.
AAAIS Confidential Principal/Counselor Evaluation Form
These forms will be delegated by the parent on Ravenna to the principal or counselor at your daughter’s current school. All records, including grades and standardized test scores for the current year as well as two years prior, should be mailed/emailed directly to Atlanta Girls’ School or uploaded via the Ravenna portal.
Confidential Common Teacher Evaluation Forms
Two of these forms must be completed–one by your daughter’s current English teacher and the other by your daughter’s current math teacher. These forms will be delegated by the parent on Ravenna to the English and math teachers at your daughter’s current school. Completed forms should be mailed/emailed directly to AGS or uploaded via the Ravenna portal by the delegated teachers.
Step 3: Secondary Schools Admission Test (SSAT)
The SSAT is the independent school entrance exam AGS uses as a metric in the admission process. The SSAT may be taken any time by the February test date to be accepted for regular admission decisions. You may also schedule a flex test if you’re unable to register for a Saturday test date, but please be advised that this is at an additional cost to families.
Register at www.ssat.org; Atlanta Girls’ School’s school code is 1410.
Step 4: Student Interview
Once your daughter’s online application is submitted, the office of admission will contact you to arrange a date for her interview. Families may also request that the admission interview take place on the same day as a shadow visit or a private family tour.
A Better Chance Applicants
A Better Chance applicants referred to AGS should complete the steps listed above according to the given deadlines.
If you are A Better Chance scholar that has not been referred to AGS, you may still apply. All applicants should follow the same application steps listed above.
