Step 1: Online Application

Submit an online application (via Ravenna) with the non-refundable application fee of $75. Applications received after the January 27, 2017, deadline may only be considered after the March 31 decision date if a space becomes available. Please contact the Office of Admission for more details.

Step 2: Required Forms

Required forms (accessed via Ravenna) must be received by February 10, 2017.

AAAIS Transcript Release Authorization and Confidential Principal/Counselor Evaluation Form
These forms will be delegated by the parent on Ravenna to the principal or counselor at your daughter’s current school. All records, including grades and standardized test scores for the current year as well as two years prior, should be mailed/emailed directly to Atlanta Girls’ School or uploaded via the Ravenna portal.

Confidential Common Teacher Evaluation Form
Two of these forms must be completed–one by your daughter’s current English teacher and the other by your daughter’s current math teacher. These forms will be delegated by the parent on Ravenna to the English and math teachers at your daughter’s current school. Completed forms should be mailed/emailed directly to AGS or uploaded via the Ravenna portal by the delegated teachers.

Step 3: Secondary Schools Admission Test (SSAT)

The SSAT is the independent school entrance exam AGS uses as a metric in the admission process. The SSAT may be taken on the following dates this admission season: October 15, November 12, December 10, January 7, and February 11. You may also schedule a flex test if you’re unable to register for a Saturday test date, but please be advised that this is at an additional cost to families.

Register at by January 2017 to ensure testing by or on the February 11 date. Atlanta Girls’ School’s school code is 1410.

Step 4: Student Interview

Once your daughter’s online application is submitted, the office of admission will contact you to arrange a date for her interview. Families may also request that the admission interview take place on the same day as a shadow visit or a private family tour. Interviews are conducted by AGS admission committee members and last approximately 30 minutes.

A Better Chance Applicants

A Better Chance applicants referred to AGS should complete the steps listed above according to the given deadlines.

If you are A Better Chance scholar that has not been referred to AGS, you may still apply. All applicants should follow the same application steps listed above.
